An unusual weekend
It's 10:45 night. From the glass wall of my 55th floor apartment, I can see a mostly empty Corniche. Even on a weekend night, that was a rarity. But then, nothing right now is what it used to be pre-corona.
Within the span of a few weeks, our lives have changed completely. The schools are closed and kids are home. offices are closed and everyone is either off or working from home. Malls, play areas, restaurants, movie theaters, and everything else that made Abu Dhabi vibrant has gone silent. It seem like the city has gone into a retreat.
As we wish and pray for this time to quietly and uneventfully pass us all by, we are reminded how precious 'normal' is, when nothing is no longer normal.
